hoesim
Good to know : ) Even so, if someone re-create your epitome url and edited it in Pixlr.com. Save it as their own copy. It is rather difficult to trace. I found my image was re-create and reused when i lookup in google image under the same Keyword.
Susanna
Hi! Give thanks you lot for the useful tutorial, but I was wondering if it would work on Facebook pictures. Considering I sent my picture taken from facebook to my ex-friend on kik a while ago before we argued, and I recall she reposted it in some website, but I'm non sure. I'm worried that she might post it on porn websites etc. I tried to do this to notice my pictures but it didn't piece of work. And so my question is : Does that trick works on Facebook picture ? Or if you have any other useful tricks, please allow me know. I really Really need your aid. Give thanks you!

Much easier -quicker way to search is: in Chrome, right click on any paradigm and choose an choice 'Search google for this epitome' from the driblet down menu. Takes a second :) No need for URL.

I have had a person emailing me since November. 19th, 2013. Proverb some terrible things near my hubby and I. She has sent a photograph. The first one was totally unlike than the concluding. The last one she claimed is actually her, how can I find out who this person is by the photo?

Jessica
Would this work for Facebook photos too or only pictures on blogs? I guess if you were able to do it on Facebook, information technology would definitely have to exist done on a computer not a cell phone. I come across thedrag and driblet method on Catfish all the time but information technology'due south never worked for me!

@PamelaMKramer - A Renaissance Woman
In Chrome it's a right click and there is already an selection to search. I web log about Crossfit just I don't consider myself a Crossfit blogger. It's one of my highest traffic posts so I took the epitome from a Paleo earlier and after challenge that I did and certain enough! It's on about 3 other sites. I merely need to contact ane of them to give me proper credit. wow!
Jessica
Wow–although I appreciate this tutorial, I'm totally creeped out by the number of people stealing my photos (photos that include my immature son). I'k now wondering if there is some code I can place on my blog to help prevent it. :(
Carol
Then what do you do if you lot find one that doesn't link dorsum to you? I have found one of my pictures, and it doesn't link back to my web log. Its funny that the postal service was dated April 2008, I didn't do my post until March 2012.. guess she didn't like her own photo and replaced it with mine! I besides have a "content and photos on this site are the sole property of….." on the side bar.

This is a great resource. I vest to a portfolio site where lots of photographers and artists complain of their stuff beingness posted elsewhere. Most of it is harmless, merely occasionally somebody finds their art in a Samsung ad or some such. A mailing list I subscribe to shared a resource similar to this just requested that listing subscribers keep information technology to themselves for the time being, which was bugging me. Now I'chiliad off the claw. :-D
Robert Connor
What a dandy tip and very dainty site we beloved i!
Google
Really another great fashion is to directly upload that images to google images search and and so look for similar images which are to your. Google images search is pretty powerful and will notice all those images which await similar without warring virtually the naming and Y'all will go all the list of images and places where they are beingness hosted.
Matt
I ever used tineye in the past but this seems to work better…thanks for this!

Dear Amanda, I met someone from facebook and his name at that place was Ronnie Powell. He had many pics in FB aforementioned all faces. We've been chatmates for how many months. I call back 4 months. And everytime I enquire him to let me meet him on cam, he refuses me. One time, they went to Paris together with his dad. that was he said to me, and I dont know if he was truthful or was only lying. Then past next day, I receive a bulletin from his IM that he run across blow goin back from Paris to UK. And then, the 1 who messaged me was his cousin named Andrew, and when he let me saw him on cam, I was taken aback becuz he looked like a Pakistani and not similarly similar with the guy on the motion picture. I know they are not bro only even cousins have still similar faces. I blocked him and unblocked him again. After few weeks he came back and said that why he blocked me and reply on his messages. I told him that he was not the guy on the moving picture and he insisted that information technology was him, merely i even so have a doubt. So, how would I know who is the guy on the movie? will i able to know him – the real name of the guy on the flick Even IF It WAS TAKEN FROM FB using ur fox and will i able to know where that stupid wannabe stole that pic that he used to pretend? Please assist me…

Thanks for the cracking tip. I just saw it and constitute another way to do it. I accept not read the 100+ comments, so I don't know if someone has already posted it. Anyway, here's how…
Go to google.com –> On the header (of You+, Search, Images… ) click on "Images" –> At the end of the search field, there is a camera icon, click on information technology. (when yous hover over it, it will say "search past epitome") –> Yous can either "Paste image URL" or click on "Upload an image". Click on upload an epitome if you have no URL, or if you want a quick mode of searching images you have on your PC. –> You tin can at present browse and select your epitome, or merely drag an image file from your explorer into the search field… –>
And there you take it, your epitome searched… :)

Howdy Amanda. I have IE and tried searching a few of my web log tutorial pictures using your instructions in a higher place. I tin not get whatsoever results from any of my attempts. It does not even detect where I posted my own pictures to my ain blog, FB, Twitter, or Pintrest posts. I'yard not sure what I'chiliad doing incorrect.

All I get is the image with no data. I saw a photo I wanted to employ in my ebook. It was sent as a Valentine salutation and it is and then beautiful (Ii horses hugging), simply I don't know how to find out who owns it and then I tin become permission to use it. Thanks.
Matt
Unfortunately this won't work in 99% of cases of image theft. This will but work if the person has shared your image to their blog or website. If they right clicked and saved the image like 99% of people do, then upload the prototype this doesn't work. And so it's basically useless.
Caitlin
Julia, I would feel more comfortable discussing further with you lot only over some private measure out such as email. I'1000 non even sure I sympathise this site here. To my knowledge neither Kevin or Amanda ever responded to me.

I tried to use this for my pics on flickr but information technology doesn't seem to exist working. Is at that place a mode to exercise this with photos on flickr?
Salammbö
Hi Ed, I just spent xx minutes checking my own Flickr pictures so I can assure you it works. :) Right-click on the 'preview' on your pictures on the gallery, not on the picture folio. Have fun :)
Jessica
I've ever used tineye.com for this, but it's nice to know at that place is another option that might take hold of things the other missed. I've always watermarked my photos, but it's easy to ingather those out anymore.
Jennifer
How would you do this if you have right click disabled on your weblog. Is at that place another way to get the file location or URL?
Caitlin
PS. The poser/thief has taken this woman's photo and created a fake FB folio too. I turned it in as a fake just it's nevertheless up.

Hullo Caitlin, But read your comments & my heart sank… mainly because i am trying to get google reverse image to work for me on my mac & ipad. Tineye works for me but i'm needing more results! I am trying to learn if I have been catfished one time over again!! I take met way also many fakes as yous describe. Can you share the fake FB profile name?
thank you, julia
Caitlin
Amanda and Kevin, Tin can you help? Photos were sent to me (we met on an online dating site) and turns out the person on the site is pretending to be this woman. Information technology's actually a man posing as her. He has sent some pics that I highly doubtfulness she would want floating around (non sure how she feels about non-heterosexuality but it's a lesbian dating site). The poser is sucking a lot of women in for certain.
Is there a style to take the photos and endeavour and acquire who she is so that she tin can exist told what the heck is happening to her photos? I just accept photos sent to me via email. If I were in her position, I would want to know.
I tried on google reverse photo search with no luck and tineye with no luck. Thank you for your help. Caitlin

my question is what practise you exercise when someone is stealing your photos/posts? Especially the foreign ones– I don't really know how to stop them.
Abby
Ack. I can't BELIEVE how many people have stolen my photos. I see above that someone has given an even easier way to rail downwards thieves. Anyone know of a programme that alerts you if an image is republished?
Suzan
I tried this with a photograph I know for a fact was taken and put as someone'southward Facebook profile photo. It only showed the link to my blog, not to the Facebook page.
Valerie
Smashing footling play a trick on! I kind if enjoy seeing my photos on tumblr sites. :)

Enid
Wow, thanks for sharing! I tried this and found someone using my pictures to advertise for their business concern! Yikes!
Naomi
You could also drag the paradigm from your web log , pc, mac drag and drib the paradigm in Google Images search and it will practise the very same affair. You'll get the same results. :-)

Every time I come across something that I know is from your site (which I seem to have memorized considering I've been a regular reader for so long) or other blogs I frequent on Pinterest or anywhere else, I make sure to "annotate" who should get the credit. : )
Lately I've been seeing your t-shirt scarf pop up a lot.

You lot can go to Google Images at http://images.google.com and click the fiddling camera on the right side of the search box. Then you can paste your URL or even upload your own image in that location.

THANK You lot Amanda for posting this tutorial! Later post-obit it I establish two of my images posted on two different sites. :( One cropped it and posted it as a complimentary wallpaper download. I tin't find an owner to the website, so I have no 1 to electronic mail :( I tried posting in the comments section merely it's all the same "awaiting moderation" GRRR!!! The other 1 I constitute an e-mail for and sent them a bulletin to remove my image. We'll see how that goes…

This is awesome. I have my blog correct click disabled since someone stole images of my kids & used them for her simulated life on FB. This would have come in handy before that happened to me. Since I couldn't try information technology on my blog- I tried it hither to meet information technology in activity- only I didn't accept to copy the image & upload. When I right clicked- it gave me the option in the drop down to but search paradigm in Google. Which so gave me the aforementioned page you showed with the results. I will try to use that other tip someone left nigh dragging the image to the search bar to examination it that way. Although I also disabled left click on my images so I may have to go to my web albums to effort this out.
Heather
Wow. Super-cool tip! Constitute you via Pinterest. Looking forward to following you! :)
Nilsa @ SoMi Speaks
Interesting blog postal service on the contrary image search. And then, here's a one that's stumped me: I've put pretty strict restrictions on my online photos (no correct clicking to re-create on my weblog, Flickr and Facebook). Even so, that doesn't end someone from using my imaging (screen shots circumvent that pretty easily, that's why I've started watermarking my images). Anyway, I wonder if at that place's a way to search images whose URLs are unsearchable???

I haven't constitute a "painless" way to practise it without uploading/downloading each photo to a photograph editing site.
Melissa @ Bless This Mess

I site is in another language and they've watermarked information technology as their own! Very bummed. Have'nt even checked other photos. Any communication? If you don't accept a blog and can't utilize the tutorial above (which shows you how to get the URL from a photo on your blog), you tin use a site like Photobucket.com to upload a photo and go the URL.
Anne
Hi Amanda. FYI, there is a pinterest post out at that place (wish I had marked it only I didn't) that uses your earlier and after weight loss pics and when yous click on it information technology goes to some weight loss site. Didn't look similar anything I take seen you mention, and then you might desire to search pinterest if you can.
Amanda
Thank you so much for letting me know, Anne! That is exactly what I've been using this tutorial for. I end up spending a couple hours every dark combing through search results and Pinterest posts finding the stolen photos and reporting them to Pinterest. I usually report about 150 pins per night! Crazy, isn't it?? If you ever see one, just transport me the URL and I will report it. :)

You tin really but click the photo whether its on a web page or on your desktop and drag it to the Google search box to do the same thing. I merely learned this fob a few months agone and its amazing

You always post such useful tips Amanda, thank y'all so much :o) A quick question though – volition this work if the person, who has downloaded your photograph and "recycled" it for their own use, has renamed the photo? Or volition it simply work if they re-post the photo with exactly the aforementioned name/URL that it originally came with when you posted it – I hope that makes sense?
Amanda
Great question Candice! Yep, it will definitely work if the photograph has been renamed — It volition even work if the photograph has been cropped, resized or even had minor changes fabricated to it like lightened or darkened as well.
Candice
That is astonishing! Thanks again for this really absurd info :o)

Ugh! I am only sick. I only took my virtually pop post and establish that someone stole the picture show and photoshopped one of the colors in the picture and chosen it in that location own! Information technology was a gardening tutorial that is wildly pop on Pinterest…and so was the photoshopped picture. I lost all of that traffic. Thank you then much for posting this, I'll be closer tabs on my intellectual property!

Good to know : ) Even so, if someone re-create your epitome url and edited it in Pixlr.com.
Save it as their own copy. It is rather difficult to trace. I found my image was re-create and reused when i lookup in google image under the same Keyword.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the cracking tip. I just saw it and constitute another way to do it. I accept not read the 100+ comments, so I don't know if someone has already posted it. Anyway, here's how…

At the end of the search field, there is a camera icon, click on information technology. (when yous hover over it, it will say "search past epitome") –>
Yous can either "Paste image URL" or click on "Upload an image". Click on upload an epitome if you have no URL, or if you want a quick mode of searching images you have on your PC. –>
You tin can at present browse and select your epitome, or merely drag an image file from your explorer into the search field… –>

Howdy Amanda.

Caitlin
Julia, I would feel more comfortable discussing further with you lot only over some private

I've ever used tineye.com for this, but it's nice to know at that place is another option that might take hold of things the other missed. I've always watermarked my photos, but it's easy to ingather those out anymore.

How would you do this if you have right click disabled on your weblog. Is at that place another way to get the file location or URL?

Amanda and Kevin,
Tin can you help?

Cheers so much for this valuable advice, Amanda. I've been seeing lots of bloggers write about pirating of content and photos lately. Even though I am a little blog I know I need to at to the lowest degree watermark my photos. I haven't constitute a "painless" way to practise it without uploading/downloading each photo to a photograph editing site.
Melissa @ Bless This Mess
Miss Kitty- do you photoshop at all? There is an easy fashion to brand a stamp in PS so that you lot can just stamp on your watermark while editing before uploading. It's a cracking little fob!
Tricia @ Saving room for dessert
Thank you, thanks, cheers. I accept found one of my photos is being used numerous places. I can't empathize how people remember it is OK to steal! My lemon ice box pie photos are being used all over the place, and not but by me.

You tin really but click the photo whether its on a web page or on your desktop and drag it to the Google search box to do the same thing. I merely learned this fob a few months agone and its amazing

Kim @ In Our Write Minds
I was so excited about the elevate-and-drop choice! I tried information technology in IE and Chrome, but goose egg happened. Am I missing a stride?
Amanda
Yeah, I'yard non certain how accurate this is Kim, I never could get it to piece of work either! (Firefox & Safari on Mac)
cynthia y
Hmm I don't know why its not working. This is the merely fashion I look up images and have never had an issue. I do employ Google Chrome mostly and never on a MAC. Just I think I take gotten to work on IE and FireFox. I volition attempt to figure information technology out for ya.

You always post such useful tips Amanda, thank y'all so much :o)
A quick question though – volition this work if the person, who has downloaded your photograph and "recycled" it for their own use, has renamed the photo? Or volition it simply work if they re-post the photo with exactly the aforementioned name/URL that it originally came with when you posted it – I hope that makes sense?
Amanda
Great question Candice! Yep, it will definitely work if the photograph has been renamed — It volition even work if the photograph has been cropped, resized or even had minor changes fabricated to it like lightened or darkened as well.
Candice
That is astonishing! Thanks again for this really absurd info :o)
